About the School

Little Learners Playschool is a school for two and three year old children and is managed by National Community Church and dependent on the cooperative commitment of member parents. The objective of Little Learners Playschool is to give our children a regular opportunity for growth by providing age-appropriate education, social interaction, and organized play in a Christ-centered classroom setting.

When and where does the playschool meet?

Little Learners meets at 530 7th Street SE, Washington, DC 20003. (map)
There is a Monday/Wednesday program and also a Tuesday/Thursday program.
Both programs are mornings from 9:00am until 12:00pm.

What is the parent commitment?

Little Learners relies on the participation of all parents for the operation of the school. Each class will be led by duty parents who will be rotated according to a schedule set and communicated by the class scheduler. On-duty parents are responsible for providing a healthy snack and planning the morning lesson. Participating parents will work together to prepare the lesson content, understanding that lessons will be faith-based in accordance with the values of National Community Church.

Who is eligible to participate?

Participation in the school is limited to sixteen children between the ages of two and three years old. A child must be two or three years old by the first class of the school year to be eligible for participation at any point during the year.

When are the school sessions?

Little Learners Playschool will include two semester terms. Each semester will consist of approximately 29-30 class days.

What is included in a typical class?

The children will have a lesson as well as time for structured play, art, snack, movement, and story time. They will grow to be comfortable in a classroom setting and will have many opportunities for learning and socialization.

How much does it cost to participate?

There is a non-refundable $50 application fee. Tuition is $375 per semester.

How do I apply?

Applications may be mailed or turned during office hours at National Community Church - 205 F Street NE, Washington DC 20002 by April 6, 2012.
